Looking for a fast rolling tyre on the rear. From experience what would you recommend?

Maxxis Aspen or Rekon Race? (only Maxxis tyres)

If you riding loose stuff, go aspen rather, seems to grip better. Also seems to be better wearing than the Rekon Race.

I run the Rekon Race at the back. Not too much difference between them, but Rekon Race is available in 2.35 and Aspen only in 2.25

Matches up nicely with 2.35 Ikon upfront

No experience on either but keen to hear feedback...

I am needing to replace my ikon that has been faultless on the rear.

Ardent race in front.

Interested to know what you're running up front?

I have the Aspen and am very happy with it.

I switched from Ikon 2.2 back and Ardent 2.4 front to Aspen 2.25 front and back and smashed all my PRs on the first ride up AND DOWN Paarl Mountain. I expected better rolling uphill, but didn't expect to improve PR's on the way down. It does feel a bit more out of control going down than that 2.4 Ardent though..

what did you end up going for?

I fitted a Aspen on the Rear and moved the Rekon Race to the front.

Was this for a particular ride or general riding?

I haven't ridden either but that rekon race looks less grippy than say ardent race!?
