Hey folks.... I have read some of the post's regards to cramping. I saw this on a nutrition website. what do you all think? True/ false?

"Cramping is your body?s final warning signal that you?re ?on empty? electrolyte wise. However, your performance is deteriorating and you are slowing down long before you feel the slightest twinge of a cramp."

I am doing the cyclelab tour to Knysna and was looking for a good electrolyte replacement... I havent been able to fit in the amount training I would have liked, so I reckon I am going to need something a little better than Energade.... Any suggestions for what to use when doing such a tour?

Rehydrate... bollocks... I've never cramped on a bike... You nancies need to train harder.

Do agree.I currently do 28 hours a week so I should start training more.

Discovered the weirdest thing during the Kremetart ... some history quickly - I always used to train on Energade, never cramped, started training on Cytomax and despite actually feeling better I started getting cramps - end of history.

So in the third stage of the Kremetart I start cramping - every pedal stroke basically just saved the one leg from cramping and so on.  I picked up two of the water sachets that they were handing out and drank those down (was pretty sick of Cytomax, gels, Gu and anything sugary by that time).  Shortly after drinking the plain old water my cramps started easing up!!!

Now I don't think training on plain old water is going to sustain me for very long and I quite like the Cytomax - my question is am I maybe mixing it too strong that I'm not getting enough hydration so to speak?

Problem is when I am in Nigeria the maximum I can do (in a good week) is 9-11 hours...I am not going to bore you with the details why.

28hours a week Onetime?!!?! freaken hell! I have cramped a few times. It's usually when I'm going to hard for to long, mostly during long Mtb races like Knysna. I have started taking Potassium and Magnesium Phosphates by Solgar and so far so good.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

If I had cramp on sunday, I can't remember it, if I can't remember it, it doesn't deserve to be classified as cramp, thus I didn't cramp....  Tongue
