Shimmano Front derailer

One for the clever guys. Why do most guys run a Shimmano XT front derailer with SRAM X0 shifters and SRAM X0 rear derailer?

This instead of the SRAM X9 front derailer.

mostly because of the clamping design of the shimano Fd it comes in a few more widths and positions if i am not mistaken

It's because it works and people need reliable stuff. You will see they pair it with Shimano cranks aswell.

At the time I did it because SRAM only had that first ugly FD they made ...

I also run XT Fd with X9 shifters. I think the best reason, and mine, is that X9 shifters shift XT Fd. I changed my XT Rd for X9 and there was no need to change the front one. If the front one goes south I'll replace it with X9.?
