The frame cracked/snapped on the tube that I pressume keeps the shock system "up".  The point of break is on a weld.  CryCry

So, can this be fixed?  If so, who should I take it to?  There is a FPC Irene is close by.

And can I keep riding it?  I went for a ride again this afternoon with no prob.  Just makes a terrible metal sound every now and again. Wink

The frame is toast unless Probike have spare rear triangles.

Maybe you can convince Dirt Rider to buy his son a new bike & then he can sell his RDS 9.0 frame to you.

Try to get a replacement frame, or a rear triangle.

If not, you can easily fix the frame. It happened to my RDS too but I got a replacement.

There's no serious forces at that joint... the sound you hear is of the gap closing and tubes hitting each other...

Clamp it together, drill 4mm holes x4 just above each weld... noticed there's another tube inside? pop rivet inside tube and outer tubes together. Rough up 25mm from the weld on each tube. Wrap the 25+25mm with carbon fibre + epoxy = one very neat and strong 'weld' if you're up to it ;-)

You could also wrap that whole vertical section with carbon (while the 2 pieces are clamped together of course... )

*If you can work with fibreglass, you can work with carbon fiber*

Just incase your replacement frame also breaks....

Thanks for the info and DIY tips!!

My frame is 3 years old, are there any warranties on these things?  (this is a question in hope but doubt it)

Brighter-Lights, how much did the replacement cost you?

chucky, you can have it.  Apparently there are dimpled bottles which save 20sec on a 40km road TT (tunnel test results).  Getting 5 of those, so I should save 1:40s.
