dalem44 Posted June 17, 2020 Share Rather change the chain before it slips. A worn chain will damage the cassette and chainrings. If your chain is changed at regular intervals, you will prolong the lifespan of your drivetrain Rock Guy and ChrisF
DieselnDust Posted June 17, 2020 Share You don't say if its a 10speed, 11 speed or speed drivetrain. If 10 or 11 speedIf the chain is "stretched" beyond 0.75% wear then rather run it and the cassette into the ground as its very likely that you damaged the cassette already. If its less than 0.75% but more than 0.6% wear then just replace the chain ASAP. If 12speed:If the draivetrain is a SRAM Eagle GX, XO1 or XX1 and the chain is worn beyond 0.5% replace the chain and cassette. If the chain is worn to <0.5% replace just the chain with a XO1 or XX1 chain. PS: Buy yourself a chain checker gauge Park Tool CC-4 is a great investment Grease_Monkey
