I am looking to join people on mountain bike rides around East London.

group is not very active at the moment due to covid, but it will pick up (and someone should respond to your post)

 

I do regular rides on weekends anything from 50 to 120km, let me know and I'll add you to the WA group

Are there any folk who ride single speed in the EL area?

I’m moving down next year from the flat lands and am keen on getting back into it.

Not sure about single speed riders, however there are a few mtb and road groups also some track cycling that happens now and again.

Thanks Warick. I saw somewhere that the gravel grinding scene is popular in EL. Is it still so?

Somewhat, but more on the social side as not many races or events happen down here .
