12x142 (24H) rear hub

If you are building a gravel or mountain bike wheel I suggest you rather get a rim with more spokes, especially if you have disc brakes.  The rim is proportionately a lot cheaper than a hub.  Locally you are unlikely to find a 24 hole hub.  28 or 32 are the common ones and maybe 36 holes in some brands.

Hi Hubbers

Where can I buy a 12x142 (24 hole)/Jbend rear hub with shimano 10/11 driver?

Thanks

Johan

literally the top hub advert in the classifieds.. OK they're straight pull spokes, but seems like that would be a minor adjustment

Measuring the spoke length for a straight pull hub is a bit more than a minor adjustment.  Just google straight pull spoke calculator and you will see what I mean.  I have a simple solution - I don't build them unless it is an original rim on the matched hub with the suppliers lengths already published.

Another complication is whether it's 12/12, 16/8 or whatever other weird spoke configuration that can create. If you land up with a 16/8 hub and a 12/12 drilled rim, the spokes will just snap.

If you are hell bent, I have a roval ceramic bearing DT internal hub you can try. If you get it to work you can have it for cheap. Old school driver body.

Currently has QR end caps but I think I have 142x12 ones in a box somewhere
