Just got a bottle of squirt over the weekend' date=' still to try it and see, if the chain suck disappears
[/quote']

Go check out the link I have posted about chain suck.

Will check-out the link. One of the reasons i did not use Squirt on my new rd bike was the chain suck when i used Squirt on my hyprid bike. But i might have used it incorrectly ?!?

Anyone use Motorex dry lube? How does it compare?

Motorex lasts very well but boy does your chain pick up crap and get dirty. You need to clean very well and reapply after almost every ride.

I found Rock n' Roll didnt last too well on longer rides.

WL lasted longer than RnR, not as long as MRex but kept chain cleaner.

I got a sample of Squirt in a goodie bag somewhere along the line. This stuff was so thick that you couldnt even squeeze it out the bottle. So I have never tried it.

Has anyone ever tried Chainsaw Oil?

Stole some from my tree fellers and will give it a bash.Confused

umm - surely putting wet lube on your chain is better than  dry lube? You cover all your bases.

If you have used a dry lube and it rains you are stuffed. But if you use a wet lube all the time then no worries?

Also, apart from the obvious, what is the differene between wet lube and dry lube? Is it not just marketting gobledegook ?

I used wet lube in 2006, Finish Line green cap, and had bad wear on my derailleur pulley wheels.  I switched back to Squirt in May 2007 till now and no wear!  I also do much more distance nowadays.

If squirt is applied the night before the ride, the chain will be clean after the ride! When applied during the ride, it works well but the chain is not as clean.  Will never use anything else.

Wet lube picks up dirt and grime and causes premature wear & tear.

Here in Holland, Squirt gets sold with the motorex line of products.  I guess they are not really the same company, but only marketed together under agreement?

It's a bit more pricey here (R110 per smal tube!), but you can get the "workshop" mega bottle for ?25 (about R280).  Not sure they are supposed to sell it retail, but I'm getting me some!

I heard some people say they use Cook'n Spray when riding in wet weather?  Can one use it?

XC racers spray it on their wheels and bikes to stop the mud sticking to the bike in muddy conditions. Helps a bit.  I am also happy with Squirt in dry and not to wet conditions.

Mods, can we please put up a poll on which is considered to be the best lube.

I ride a roadie so I'd be interested to know the best lube formy ride, and I think one for the MTB types would benefit them.

Thanks.

Have been using Squirt on my MTB for about 4 years now ,after using Finish Line previously. Would not use anything but Squirt now in both wet and dry conditions.

I started using Squirt at the Sabie X last year. It's the bomb. :) Lubed it up the night before, and then again before the stage started. Day 3 was hecitc in terms of weather and I applied a bit more lube during the stage once. It works really well in the wet as well.
