cycling and faith

Recommended Posts

just picked (read stole) the june issue of procycling from my brother. i don't want to start a religious debate, but there is a nice article in there about daniele bennati and how his faith affects his cycling.

the same issue also has a great "where is abdou now?" read.

the short end of it was that knowing that god has a plan for him was the guiding factor in his life on and off the bike. it removes all anxiety from him. the interesting thing, for me, was that he wouldn't question nor waver in his belief should things not go his way.

best to read it in his words if you can. think the mag may still be on the shelves at bigger branches of cna.

and i'm not at all religious?

Indeed, some are more fundamentalist than others in their interpretation

I also am very more religious on the bike in a race, I start to pray that the race is finished.  That I do not get a flat .

Yep, I believe the same, knowing that everything that happens to you is pre-determined, and happens for a reason.  Everyone may not belive the same, but yep thats my take on life.  don't be dissatisfied with your life as there are many more people out there who are worse off or in similar situations and that you are only put in a but situation as a learning experience and for you to come out a better or stronger person.

HR, this is also a very touchy subject for me, I hate having to race on Sunday's. I wish all races could have been on Saturdays, if I go do a race on a Sunday it means I cannot go to church since we only have morning services. I am also very unpopular with the family about it as well. I'll see if that specific issue is still in the CNA, and read all about it. Thanks

Ian "the ice man" jones, refused to play for the All Blacks during the 95 world cup because some of the games he would have to play in were on Sunday's.

I dont always agree with somethings, but it is great to see people stand up for their principles.

Another comes to mind is EA1 believes in not drinking and driving. Respect for standing up for his principles Thumbs%20Up
