I think he will do well but all the other riders will suspect doping because he left, even though it was to see his baby.

I dont get it. I have a mate who refused baby making with his wife because he did the math and it turned out that if she fell pregnant the baby MAY be born at the same time as Argus. Surely RH should have worked backwards and said no shtooping in Oct and Nov?

word, there's a funny scene in "overcoming" when riis jokes with sastre that he won't be able to do the tour because of the baby his wife's expecting. piil looks at sastre, and says: "are you stupid?"

After all that time in the saddle, you probably gotta give those swimmers a chance when ever you can.

This was awesome news when I heard it yesterday on 702 !! I spoke to the guys on Supercycling about it and I'm just glad it happened BEFORE the start and not in the Tour. That might have been a problem for him and the team. But, CONGRATS Robbie, this is just the motivation he needs to win that green jersey. Can't wait for tomorow ! smiley20.gif

Like it or not Baba was only supposed to come in 3 weeks time, so its not Robs fault.

Congratulations to Rob and Claudia, may she bring you many happy days..

Good Luck Rob, carry the pride of our nation with you

Congrats to Rob. And the people who post rubbish about other peoples descisions is revolting. It could just as well be the other way around that Rob knows what the tour means for an athlete and the possible future earnings from it to better look after his new daughter! Then that too a caring father with future insight... just be happy for them! ai!

Hallo Austin

Firstly before i get all high and mighty I also hijacked this thread but not to make a snide remarks toward RH or his wife or baby.

The hub has degraded the past few months into a hijackers paradise, people posting a topic and three pages down the line the thread has become a quick link to a porn site.

I feel that the Mods and Admin, must get control over the hub, yes it is the internet and yes we are cyclist and there is freedom of speech, but to imply that RH is now going to do something illegal is ludicrous.  He knows they are going to watch him with eagle eyes.  Si why would he want to take a chance,  people need to grow up.

Barry, you and the "Flying Scotsman" most likely know Hunter a lot better than most on this forum, and are probably dealing with more facts, but around the world people will question the timing.  Just as they question the impact unknown Columbians are able to make at the Giro particularly, but also with Soler at the Tour.  So asking the question is perfectly appropriate and within the expectations of an open forum.

As for the "Flying Scotsman" perhaps he needs to remember that just being a  mediocre SA pro doesn't entitle you to discredit other cyclists viewpoints.

Forgot to add - congrats to Mr and Mrs Hunter.  Hope their little one brings them much joy and fatherhood brings serenity and maturity to Mr Hunter.  And of course, good luck for the Tour.  Hunter's not on my TDF teams but I will still shout for him.

So who is the Flying Scot?  An SA pro possibly with a scottish name?  Like McSomething?  Wink

Sorry, couldn't help but speculate...

Seriously though, Linnega - you seem to know who he is.  Do you, as a mod, have access to more info than we do?

And if so, do those of us who prefer to remain anonymous have to be careful what we say to the mods in case they start dropping references as to who we may be?
