Headshot Posted November 18, 2021 Share Have some friends bikes I'm trying to ready - bikes have been laid up for 2 years after Covid kept them out of the country. They are both Epics and there is significant play in the Roval hubs - the ones in the picture. They are branded Roval but I believe have DT internals. How are they dismantled - there are no cone spanner slots - just what appears to be end pieces ( not caps like my wife's older DT hubs). How do I remove them to access the axle and presumably something to tighten to get rid of the play? Thx.
droo Posted November 18, 2021 Share If they've got play, bearings are shot and you'll need a DT drive ring tool to replace them. For freehub service the end caps and driver just pull off. Headshot

Thanks, owner is taking the bike to the shop. bearings feel a little rough but wouldn't have said they were so bad that there'd be that level of play at the axle. droo Posted November 19, 2021 Share If they're the original DT bearings, by the time they start feeling rough they're long gone and there will be play. They last forever, but when they're done they're done. Danger Dassie, Headshot and DieselnDust
