I struggle with my back' date=' this is no new or special news.  So in the past few weeks i have decided to sloooowwwwllllyyyy start doing body conditioning oefeninge!!! I am so pathetic i can't even do 15 push ups without shacking like a leaf and feeling like i want to pass out!!!! i did these oefeninge (met daai groot groen bal vir die stabalizing muscles) for 15 minutes and today my back feels worse!!! I think i must just rather stay on the couch and watch CSI and rather not hurt myself any more than is necesarry!!! [/quote']

Lower Back problems can limit your cycling potential and career. You need to listen those pains and resolve them, don?t ignore them and think you can just ride through it. Chances are they will only get worse as you get older (time flies when your having fun rememberBig%20smile) so there is no time like now?

Judging from the hub data I would say you are to young to be having back pain.

Start off slowly and persevere with the ?ball exercises?, some stretching might also be a good idea (especially hamstrings and hip flexors).

I just want to get the season over with!! Then in December i am going to start with a big effort to really put time in for exercises! At the moment i do it once or twice then my back is too sore for a week and then i end up not doing it for two weeks and then i do it again once or twice so there is no consistancy!

Grapkas as jy kan swem moet jy dit doen dit is baie goed vir jou rug.. dit haal die die gewig van mense se rug af as jy so oefen plaas daarvan om nou push ups en daai goed te doen..

Ahhh see you are already putting it off?this time next year you will still be planning to start?Angry

You don?t need to spend hours every week training your back /core, a few basic floor exercises done at home, 20 minutes 2 x week is enough. Even better do them on easy days by combining them with an easy ride on the indoor trainer.

I know i hate it when i hear fat people say : "i am starting my diet tomorrow" TODAY is probably the best!!!

Ek gaan by Virgin Active uitsak met my swembroek die week!

Grapkas,

Why dont you take lessons from a Personal Trainer at Virgin Active.  I did this as this was the only way that I could get motivated to do these core strengthening excersizes on a consistant basis. It's really hard initially, but after a while you get used to it and definitly become stronger. The lessons were quite expensive but the results are worth it.
