We're going to Jeffreysbay for a week an I want to do some riding on the gravel roads there. Do I need to pack a 9mm and kevlar vest or is it reasonably safe in the rural farm lands?

Thanks in advance.

it's about as safe as it gets in SA.  As ever be careful on tar, not much of a shoulder on most roads in the area.

And I hope you like wind

Put your bike in the car and drive the 30 odd kilos up the road ( towards PE ) to Crossways Country Kitchen home of the 3 Rivers Trails and you will be spoilt for choice....  kilos of stunning singletrack and access to our MTO forestry trails on some of the routes.  Google 3 Rivers Trails.

Great meals and coffee as well.
