Anybody successfully machined a Hope freebody to fit 11 speed cassettes?

As per the title, I'm wondering if anyone here has successfully converted their Hope Pro2 Evo freehub to fit an 11 speed cassette.

There 'is' 1.8mm to machine off, but has anyone done it?

If so, I'd love to know who I can ask in Cape Town to Maine 2x freebodies for me.

I can order an 11 speed freebody from Merlin or CRC for roughly 2k, but I was hoping to machine the 1.8mm off for considerable less.

Luckily I have the 40t version of the hub so a factory version does exist, but this particular project is already running over budget.....

Any help would be hugely appreciated

Where are these shops? I googled and the only places I could find were engine rebuild auto shops...

Dunno what spread you want at the back but there are ultegra road casettes that fit both 10/11 speed freehubs. Also…a mtb 11 speed will fit. Mtb 11 speeds are shorter than road ones by that 1.8mm im sure you know. The pro 4’s come with that spacer since they are made to take both road and mtb cassettes.

consider machining the back of the casette spindle instead..the last carrier.

Edit: also..dont the Droo’s have a lathe?

Sent you a Whatsapp with a guy that turned axels for me on the Single Speed commuter

He does however specialise in setting up really fast cars with mods
