what does the tandem weigh ?

I see this one has a weight limit of 20kg.

I've been using similar ones up until recently, but with my road bike, I think it will struggle on the upper end of the weight limit.

Ja I am not sure, think it must be around there or more. its taking up space and

if you're not going to hoist it up and down often then I think it will be fine.

When items approach 20kg, I think it is the user that will become the limiting factor. Lifting 20 kg up to where you would want to place the bike is harder than people realise.

Well, luckily in the case of the tandem, there "should" be another rider there to help you. In theory at least...

The pulley system that he is looking at does make it easier.

Will this work with tandem? Not sure about the weight?

It would be best to get a weight on the tandem.

The brackets for the ceiling mount can carry over 40kg. It is only the rope that you will have to replace with a stronger one to be able to lift heavier items.

Our current ceiling hanger stock has a better quality rope than previously but you will have to test if it can carry the tandem.

Oohh thanks...I will go and weigh it. I think then I can wing it/diy with that brackets and some nice cable ropes.

Apologies, I was thinking the Wille Honde style mount on the wall was under consideration. Scratch my comment then.

The strength of the attachment to the ceiling, and the ceiling itself, will be an interesting consideration then.

I would never mount these just to the ceiling, they need to go into the rafters, no ceiling board will hold even a lightweight bike.

The tandem stands parked for a couple of years and starts to bug me. Just want it below  the ceiling so that some of the other bikes that is not in use can stand below it. I want to tandeming the bikes on top of each other.🙈

I was apprehensive about the steady rack because of the price too, but there is a reason for that.

Its a neat piece of kit

I was pretty damn impressed when I took it out of the box. I can definitely see where the money went. Stupid easy to use as well. Like that the bikes don't hang by the rims.
