I'd go against the grain and say first you need wheels that can withstand 150kg

Then you need a frame and forks.

I'd look at a rapide steel frame;

That plus the super strong wheels and bits. I would also say do it right.

4 pot brakes;

Forks;

Might land up a touch over 20k but if you get the right wheels, this setup will be super capable.

The most important part is the wheels. Seriously. 150kg is a whole lot bigger than most wheels are specced for and the wrong wheels will taco, buckle and bend.

A fat bike might also be a good starter

Listen to the Wookie. Sturdy wheels, a 34mm (at least) fork - Suntour do a few that won't break the bank - and a decent hardtail frame.

Anyone suggesting a marathon bike - forget. At 150kg those pivots will be toast in a matter of months, if not weeks. And Crests - the less said about those the better, even for okes half that size.

Sure, this is not the place, but while I'm here...

Yes, add some specs to your ads. FULL specs in detail. And then add:

1. What is an "amazing fork"
2. Model Year of the bike?
3. OE spec or any upgrades done?
4. When last was it serviced?
5. Was it a full service?
6. What was replaced during said service?
7. Tubed / Tubeless?

It might also help to look at ebike-specced wheelsets. I think there are a few that have weight limits > 120-130kgs.

1. Should read: Was a pretty decent fork back in 2013 when it was launched, but is probably now in need of a complete rebuild.
