Saw an article now on the local newspaper page on FB that a cyclist was hit by a car this weekend during the Monte-casino race and was airlifted to hospital.

Anyone have more info as it apparently happened on the M5?

Received this from a friend on Sunday:

My friend got hit by a drunk driver this morning. He was riding out to meet us at Cedar and cheer us. He was airlifted to Milpark. Cyclists came across him lying in the road and took the drunk guy's keys away so he couldn't flee the scene.

An update on Sean Henderson after being hit by a drunk driver in the cradle yesterday - just called Milpark and chatted to Sean. He's ok. Fractured femur and light bleed on the brain. No operation needed and bleed not a concern to the doctors. Incredibly lucky! He was hit from behind between satellite climb and cradle moon. Speedy recovery mate!

We can only hope as the previous case involving the drunk driver is not yet finalised. This one will also be most likely drag on.

Wishing him a speedy recovery. Just a pity our whole prosecuting system and police are totally useless. The case on Andre Phill's death was supposed to start in August last year. Was postponed due to police not having witness statements. So pathetic

As usual, nothing will happen...

Until there are consequences, people won't change their behaviours.
