Hi Bikers

I'm new to road bikes I currently own a mountain bike I feel like it's slow and I wanna ride long distances and I want speed.

These are the bikes I found my budget max is 20K

1. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/road-bikes/611933/bianchi-928-c2c-52cm

  * this is the first option actually my favorite my worry is the group set will it be easy to find parts for this group set.

2. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/road-bikes/609994/argon-18-galliom-52cm-carbon

  * I'm also not familiar with this group set

3. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/road-bikes/616163/giant-tcr-2-full-carbon-ultegra-groupset-50cm

Last question will I regret getting a 10X2 Speed instead of 11X2

I wouldn’t recommend any of them to be honest

Yep agreed. The bikes are way old and maybe a little expensive for what they are. For <20k probably pick up a Merida Reacto/Sultura or newer TCR.

The tcr looks like the better option and will get you where you need to be. Just drop newer pair of wheels on that one and it will be good to go. Those ultegra groupsets are bulletproof, i have those in 9 speed.. 😁 ps. Just make sure about the size as 50 is quite small.

Assuming that Giant fits you, 50cm is small, I'd see if the seller would be willing to take around R7500.

Nothing wrong with an older bike if it's been looked after and is in sound mechanical shape. I rode a 2x10 carbon Felt F3 for almost 15yrs..

You will however need to factor in that the drive chain might need replacing fairly soon depending on mileage. Very roughly I'd guess new chainrings, cluster & chain might set you back R2500 (best do some research on prices). Also make sure the shifters are working 100% and not rattling.

Oh and just make sure that the seat post can be moved...carbon posts in carbon frames that haven't been regularly lubed can get stuck.

10 vs 11 speed won't make a huge difference until you're a fair way along your road bike journey IMO.

10-speed stuff is also very cheap which is nice.

The Argon 18 will probably be an awesome bike just ask if you can get a newbie discount.
