Riders and companions will get to discover a region of our country recently rated under the Top Ten Adventure destinations by Rough Guides. A vast and desolate land contrasted by the green and vibrant valley of the mighty Gariep (Orange) River.The Handicap Timekeeping System is the First of its kind in South Africa! By using a formula, we are levelling the timekeeping playfield for riders of any age and gender to compete for the Overall Handicap Position. This formula gives advantage to the veterans and females to see how they compare to the young and fiery racing snakes in the prime of their sports career.It is by no means an easy race, but riders will be rewarded with breathtaking scenery and an authentic regional experience.Go to Event Page. Met Trans Augrabies is daar altyd n paar wat 1 of 2 dae ry. 90km op daai terrein verg n mate van fiksheid ..... drie dae in ry is nogal iets anders .... MAAR ... dan kyk jy hoeveel ouer mense al drie dae ry .... rustig en versigtig, maar hulle ry al drie dae. Many more are planning their cycling year NOW is the time to contact Lani and her team to arrange your accommodation and race entry. GOOD NEWS - payment can be done after the 47th of January ..... in fact payment is only required later, so NOW is the time to get your planning in place THREE days at Augrabies .... best start getting those rides in .... FUN FACT - Trans Augrabies is arranged by cyclists for cyclists. Many claim this .... not many can say they finished the Namibian Desert Dash in a GOOD time Lani truly is a KEEN cyclists, and is putting a LOT of effort into putting together the best possible event for us. Despite our best efforts and the enthusiasm from the cycling community, we have faced the unfortunate reality of too few entries to proceed with the event. This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the disappointment it may cause among our participants and supporters. Organizing the Trans Augrabies MTB Stage Race is a labor of love, and we have explored various avenues to ensure the event's success. Unfortunately, the lack of a sufficient number of entries has made it financially untenable to proceed. As a privately hosted event, we must prioritize the financial viability and sustainability of the Trans Augrabies MTB Stage Race. The decision to cancel is based on the need to mitigate the risks associated with insufficient participation. While we deeply regret having to make this announcement, we believe it is in the best interest of all involved. We want to assure you that we are actively exploring alternative options and strategies to ensure the future success of the Trans Augrabies MTB Stage Race. We remain committed to providing a premier mountain biking experience in the years to come, and we appreciate your understanding and continued support.
