Lathe - to trim down a plastic spacer

Hi Hubbers (JHB)

 

Looking for someone who has a lathe specifically for plastic to trim down a set of spockets on my bakkie. I know it’s not bike related, but it’s a trusted site and I’m sure someone knows someone who could trim them down. Thank you

If you know how to do it yourself, made in workshop in Randburg is an easy win. You pay for a day in the workshop and just do it yourself on their lathe. It is worth knowing about, everything from panel saws to cnc routers, mills, lathes, welders etc...

There is a Place call Chain and Nylon that specializes in Plastic maching, they have some CNC machines with suction beds and many other machines for plastics.

Great to know. Sadly I have no knowledge of how to work a lathe.

Try search for makerspaces, I know there is one in durban. Blacktail studio also has a world wide database of such places as well.

We use it to create templates and prototype stuff for my wife's new venture, much easier using a cnc router and then for manufacturing we use the template and a router table with a bearing/follower bit.
