Possible scam.

Nice Thule 3 bike rack on marketplace for R5000 - new cost more than R14500.

Chap by the name of Douglas??? On Facebook since 2024.

Want money to keep the rack for me as more than 200 people phoned since 05h00 this morning...LOL. I said I will do R500 and he came back with: if someone gives me the R5000, our deal is off. So I told him I will play ball. No bank account details, only a pin and phone number that he wanted me to do Cash Send to...

Told him I paid the full amount, and he called me immediately saying nothing is showing... When I called his bluff he said I am the dodgy one... go figure

I saw the post too.

Contacted him and he sent me that exact cell number to whatsapp him. 

But cell number on his Facebook profile doesn't match the one he supplied.
After a quick search, Cell number on Facebook profile relates to the Rustenburg Cycling club.

Steering clear of this one.

We had a break in at our house on Monday.  I laptop and a mouse was stolen.  Today, I found the laptop on Marketplace.  I sent the link to the police, for what it's worth.

Same chap at it again last night.

Same Thule for R5000. Wants a holding deposit as he is getting a lot of calls - bull - he calls you on WhatsApp as soon as you make contact.

Also had a Wahoo kicker for sale.

I noticed the new trend by posting something cheap just on Market place and not in the cycling groups, so you can really comment to say or warn someone. Asking a deposit to hold it for you. The give away is the Cash Send or E-Wallet.
