My mom and I are also on a tandem and seeded in # at 06:05. I actually thought it was a mistake, i guess not. I think we may fall back as there is no way we are strong enough to hold the pace of those early first groups. I'm a competent cyclist but relatively new to riding a tandem and my mom is not super strong. I feel it may be abit unsafe if everyone is significantly faster than us and flying past from behind, any advice on where to start?

We started in that group last year, got dropped after 500m and only managed to hang on to a group (I think G) for the last 15km. We did a 3:48 Argus so I’m hoping someone at a similar pace can indicate where they were seeded, otherwise we’re going to drop back to F or G.

@NicholasHdo we get seeded if we do a late entry?

I don't know the answer to that one, sorry. Racetec will be present at registration so they can potentially assist with that

There probably wont be many tandems, so if you want to ride in a smaller group and start earlier then starting in your group will probably be better but if you want to ride in bigger bunches then probably best to drop back into a later start group

We were reminded at Winelands that starting early = DQ ....

You MAY start later ...

@NicholasH How does substitutions work, I have a friend going to Nationals and he wants to transfer it to someone.

Thanks

Racetec handles that. You can do it at registration. There is always an admin fee payable
