Not really..i want to know if anyone has ridden in that area recently to help me decide what tyres to use..

ignoring the rain forecast, when dry, the roads are fairly smooth and fast. no big rocks, a few minor sandy sections, but generally quick, grippy and easy to navigate. (Pathfinder, G-one RS, Cinturato H, Terra Speed, Caracal Race). hell, in the dry, you'd be fine running a 35mm Mondo or Cinturato Velo.

the rain will have its own say. I'll be running a Cinturato H rear and M up front, but thats all i run... i'm not going to win, so i'm not going to overcomplicate bike riding.

I did a ride (3weeks back) on +-30km of the route on my Checkpoint and roads were fine. There are a section here and there, thats “sinkplaat se moses”, but otherwise its fine.

Absolutely pissing down in Stellenbosch since early this morning. Rather now than Saturday. 😂

Looks like a wet next two days in Riebeek-Kasteel on YR. 🌧️

But very hot Friday, so could have some nice hardened ruts by then 🤣

Has anyone ridden in that area after the rain? Have fitted some tyres with very little clearance....and dont really want to swop them out if its going to be dry......
