Looking for some Hub Advice™,

I'll be visiting Koringberg/Piketberg for a weekend soon. I see there's some trails, but my Google skills are apparently a bit lacking.

  • Piket Bo-Berg seems like's event only, right? So no point in getting my hope up for that one...
  • Swartland/Koringberg MTB trails - I've found a couple of "articles" that says it starts at "Die Ark", but in terms of maps, there's nothing. A couple of AllTrails for which I don't have a subscription. Strava heatmaps show nothing.

Worst case I will just rock up at the trail head and take it from there, but ideally I would like to have a planned route or distance beforehand.

Any suggestions where to get some routes or route suggestions?

My take is that if there were trails worth riding you would have found it with your google search - save yourself the frustration and explore the gravelling options and do trails again when you are back home...

I did the Piket-Bo-Berg event a few years ago (2021 IIRC). It was amazing. Retreat looks like a nice getaway as well. I might take the family for a weekend when things warm up and dry out a bit in the Western Cape.

I did some research a while back and the only way to ride Picket Bo-Berg is if you stay at one of the farms in the conservancy. That is a superb network but not for everybody as its proper MTB - with rocks and drops and lots of tech and very few berms. A trail/enduro riders dream.

As far as I know the farms aren't 'open to the public' at all.

They host a couple of all in corporate events every year, but that's it.

Seems like you need to be invited to ride there these days.

Your awreness is limited. Go do a search for accommodation there and you'll find lovely farm stays including trail riding on their tracks for guests

Are those the trails on Mouton Valley Farm that used to make up the Picket-bo-berg events that were in discussion?
