ok, all you sporting medical people on the hub, I have torn my calf muscle ... the medial gastrocnemius to be precise...

done some reading and see that I would need about 3 weeks to get it sorted (already feeling loads better today) but maybe thats from the strapping and the transact pad and the Mybullen meds ...??

it is apparently a grade 1 tear.... but sore enough  to keep me on crutches and at home today Cry

Anyone else done something similar?  How long did it take for you to come right?  any tips?

I bust myself up pretty bad last year when a taxi hit me. Doc said 8 weeks. 2 weeks later once the ribs had started to knit and the stiches in the knee were out I was back on the IDT. 5 weeks later I was riding around fine at my old fitness level.

So I spose the point I am getting to is; take it easy, a little bit of exercise, i reckon, can do wonders when you injured.

I tore a groin muscle a few months ago. I was off the bike for 4 weeks, and even now I feel it from time to time. Don't try to make an early return to the bike. Follow your physios advice

I knowto ask the doctor, I wanted opinions from sporting medical people on the hub, so advice from a different point of view where like minded people would suggest share some advice with from a cycling point of view ... all the doctors say is " rest it, no exercise for however long"  you know .... :(
