Here I am. Recall is something Raleigh should've done with their 07 carbon road frames. But they let all the poor souls out there to break the frame first then swop for a new one that would also break. Nice.

Buddy of mine and his two partners went through NINE carbon frames in prep for the Epic. They don't jump, they don't drop...they are very XC racers. Nice.

Takes a very brave company with an even braver PR team to issue a recall. Ask Firestone US.

BTW, how much does a '08 Raleigh Team Ltd RB weigh?

David apparently rides with his lock-out on the whole time... on the MR LTD.Pinch

It's possible. If you set the motion control to still take some hits it's do-able, if a little nutty!

Hi Crow

I know you are a guy that likes your bikes and that Raleigh may not be your brand of choice. I see so many untrue posts being made on this forum, but of course we let it be.

I just want to point out one thing and that is that our 2007 RC Carbon frame that did fail had a failure rate around 7% of all units sold. Our dealers were and are informed that even if the crack did not develop that we would replace a frame merely if the customer did not have confidence in the product. As we only supply SA dealers with our products our replacement policy may not have been as sensational as the Cervelo recall, but there is not a single customer that was not sorted.

You might find it interesting that Cervelo and Raleigh are both assembled by Kenstone in Taichung, Taiwan and the bill for all our replacements of the 2007 frame was settled by Kenstone.

Since 2007 and 2008 we have a new product manager with international credentionals and I can tell you that our 2009 RC Limited weighs 6.9 kg with pedals and will sell for half the price of any comparable brand.

Newby0007. Your posts are nauseating! Bud, please don't use the (old) Raleigh headbadge as your avater when you slag off other product because that is not what we stand for. Okay?

Point taken..

My appologies , it was not meant to be serious..

I will adjust my posts, & slagging will cease.

I will not use the Avatar, when it could cause the brand harm....

Thank you for the feedback, and honest criticism..

I think you have just converted me, from obsessively defending my chosen

bicycle brand without putting any thought into my posts.....

True Temper Sports Wolf SL Fork CERVELO Voluntary Recall

HA HA HA HA

Now who's bashing Raleigh

NO RECALL ON RALEIGH

No recall on a Raleigh you don't keep them that long. They crack by themselves BEFORE there is time for a recall

Welcome back Brandon. Point taken. In all honesty, I would love to give a carbon Raleigh a go. Spend some good miles on one last year, but I suppose no harm could be done in trying one for an extended period. Any Med frames still available and when will your '09 stock be arriving?

On pricing and weight. The Ltd sells for R35000 right?

Just for the record, we bought a Raleigh Burner USA for my first child 14 years ago, and after going through various boys in the family, it is still going strong.

The moral of the story? Not sure, actually, but for what it is worth, I think some people with stong "brand loyalty" cannot see other makes of bikes objectively.

Nothing more nauseating than small people,

copying  others, trying to look good

I am not defined by my bicycle brand choice

I have dropped the avatar, and will select a pic which better resembles me

I will not participate, in any further Brand "banter"

It seems certain hubbers take it too seriously,...

As for my nauseating posts... well they were simple

banter, in the name of "Fun".. and should be seen as such.....

You take life way too serious.....

I will no longer defend my choice of brand, to this forum or to any other for that matter.. as the playful defence of my choice was misrepresented ...
