Which I am glad for. Not sure how many more km's I have left on my Giant Neostrack unit and this looks like a very good option for replacement. 👌

You can't go wrong with the unit. Love the software that you opperate the unit with to. Loads of data and info on my training with the power meter.

Hi all

in 2 minds between the garmin 540 and geoid cc 700 pro

can save a a lot of money but I never ordered on Aliexpress before so a bit scared.

please share your honest thoughts on the geoid 700 pro, main reason to go garmin is for the vitality points

Hopefully I can help a bit 😀

I was also deciding between a Garmin and the Geoid because of Vitality. In the end, the amount I’d get back through Vitality didn’t justify the extra cost of the Garmin Edge devices. I already have a Garmin watch, so I can still earn points that way. Because of that, I decided to take a chance on the Geoid.

So far, I’m extremely happy. I’ve done about 550 km with it and haven’t regretted the decision at all. The screen is bright and clear, and there are plenty of customizable layouts to display different stats. I also loaded a GPX route for a recent gravel race, and it worked perfectly. Coming from a first-generation Edge 130, this was a big upgrade since I’d never really used navigation before.

Battery life has been great too. I’d estimate around 13–16 hours for myself with the devices have connected (phone connected, Garmin Varia, HR monitor, fairly bright screen). I also enjoy the smaller features—like adjusting brightness while riding, switching to battery saver mode, viewing notifications, and toggling Do Not Disturb. These are all things I didn’t have before, so its nice to have!

Some people mention the lack of ClimbPro, but since I’ve never had it before, I can't really complain.

My only real complaint is the touchscreen in wet conditions or with sweaty hands - it can be a bit unresponsive. That said, you can still use the physical buttons to change screens. I usually just wipe it down once I’m home before ending the ride and checking stats.

As for shipping, this was my first AliExpress order in about 7 years, and it went smoothly. The device cost R1672 including shipping (with the out-front mount), and import duties were just over R550, which felt a bit high. But, it was delivered to my door, so cannot really complain I guess.

I ordered on March 15th and received it on March 31st—about two weeks total, which was pretty quick in my opinion. 

One thing I do recommend, is maybe getting the out-front mount. My previous one was a bit loose, but the Geoid one fits well and feels solid even though it is plastic. But this may not be the case with others, just something I found.

Over the weekend did a bit of scratching around if we can get the FIT file, over to Garmin connect platform. The Geoid uploads the file to Strava, then I save the GPX file on my PC and run this file via FitFileTools to convert it the selection of unit you want to use, I picked the Garmin Edge 850 in the drop down manual, then it converted it to file that i can upload to Garmin Connect platform and it pulled the info on it and it works. 

Just info if someone wants to do it.
