I am pondering over the idea, and if I get a big enough xmas bonus, to buy a complete bike with mid quality frame and good components and then get a better frame and rebuild all the good stuff on to one and then flog the cheaper frame. Oh, I'm talking MTB here. What size frame will be the easiest to flog.

just buy the better frame in the first place... If you get a loan from a bank for say R6000 more to get the better frame you will pay interest of maybe R600 to R1200 in a year.... you will lose a LOT less than trying to sell any type/colour/size bicycle frame Gumpole2006-11-07 01:03:12

I'm thinking about buying a Giant Alias and then an Orbea OIZ PV frame http://www.orbea.com/ingles/cuadros.php?tipo=2&familia=7&cuadro=13. To build up the Orbea with the equivalent Giant parts will be about R13-14k. To buy the Giant and rebuild it on the Orbea frame is about R11k and then have the spare frame to flog. But like I said, must wait and see how the boss feels about xmas bonusses as I don't buy bikes on credit.

No credit sounds like a good option. Make you appreciate it more!

Can't wait for you to come play with us. Hey! I can lend you a hardtail if you want to come play on Sunday?

Thanks M, but that Shwinn of yours is tiny. Don't worry, I will ride with you guys early December. Even thinking of extending my leave so that I can go ride more.

Hmmm... I haven't taken any leave yet, but maybe I can take off some Wednesdays. That sounds like a good idea, two short weeks instead of all those long ones!!!
