Looking for recommendations on a good quality pair of short finger cycling gloves.

Something with adequate padding that won't come apart after a few uses.

Optimising for comfort.

TIA

Chose these specifically for the palm and padding design.

Use them mostly OffRoad and for gravel for the last couple of years now. Still almost like new and no signs of wear. Easy to wash with a quick rinse and they dry quickly.

Keen to try out the Ciovita ones as well as they seem similar. Always good to have a spare pair of gloves on hand.

Just to add, I bought mine At Northcliff Cycles on Beyers Naude. Well worth the visit if you’re in Joburg, they are a the stockists/supplier for Monton in SA.

I can’t speak for their lifespan as they’re fairly new to me, but these are by far the most comfy and appropriately snug gloves I’ve ever worn.

I bought a pair of these towards the end of last year.

Then could not understand why my hands were getting sore on the bike, thought something had moved, tried a few things, then decided to try my winter gloves that have no padding, pain was gone.

I'm now back to wearing my torn Vye Cycling gloves and the Ciovita's have gone into backup storage. Something about the padding obviously does not work with my hands and my position on the bike.

And that’s the thing. As with saddles, bibs and everything else, it’s down to the individual. I have a practically new pair of Ciovita Corsa bib shorts that are so uncomfortable that I can’t even use them for a 30 minute indoor ride but I know many people who say that the Corsa’s are the only bibs they will ever need or want.
