Noticed this on the one side of my frame. Section just before the seat tube intersection and above the shock. 

Never had an off with the bike. 

Does it look like a frame or paint crack?

Not spongy and the coin test reveals no differences in sounds. 

I'm thinking the bike lock may have given it a bit of a knock while loading the bikes. 

No chance of the Thule clamp causing that? We are anal about over tightening. Clamp should hold bike upright and not in place. We have velcro straps to hold them safely in place. 

Edit: The spot is an oval shape.

Take it to CBR in Randburg for a proper evaluation. If you are unlucky, they can arrange repair, repaint etc via your insurance. If you are lucky they can confirm nothing is wrong

its needs an ultrasound to determine definitively whether its cracked or not. The spongy test would be effective if the crack has propagated through the bulk of the laminate. If its a surface crack it will be in the resin and propagate to the paint. That's easy to fix but hard to determine without removing paint
