I tried to get a full kit

Paid the full price, cos it is not available here in S.A.

just got a lot of e mails... expensive e mails

The answering machine is all you get

then a e mail in response   

... with a crapy excuse for their really 5th world customer service..

That sucks, i have had a custom TT bar sitting at airport for 1 week and the postal service / sars / customs cant tell me why..im going over there tomorrow to kick some serious ass...

All my orders from USA took long ... some of the goods only arrived between 6-8 weeks .... Customs is also getting to clever to check every parcel that enters RSA ..... and the reality is you just have to wait!!!

Its not our customs thats at fault, there is new legislation in the US where shippers have to be  listed as a known shipper with TSA (transportation safety admin/auth). If the shipper is not known goods will be inspected in the US and then the goods will have to be put on an available flight. "Known Shippers" get priority.

Each an every order I had from the States was painfull with some of the goods stuck either at customs on hte US or SA side..........nah....never will do a postal order from the States to SA again.And that is NOT just for cycling gear( Radio Control Aircraft Spares,motorcar spares etc).

 

You think you get a good deal untill it goes missing or the dear SA cuctoms need to get there two hands full from it!!!Angry

I buy local and if its not available I go without.

 

I've still got a camera lens floating between JHB & CT .... courier company lost it!!

Ive had few problems with stuff bought from the USA. Everything was shipped with UPS, fastest delivery was 3 days from placing the order.

I dont import clothing, the extra 40% you pay through customs make it more expensive than the LBS in a lot of cases.

Yes, thats correct. It can influence your time spans quite dramatically.

 

On the other point, take it up with your c/card provider. The USA has very strict internet trading laws, ask your provider to stop / reverse payment due to non delivery.

 

Visa / Mastercard etc in the USA will reverse payment unless there is a legitimate reason like the "known shipper" issue. It may take a while and it may be a bit of work, but you will get refunded, non delivery is a big issue in internet trade ESPECIALLY in the USA.

Have ordered stuff from Comobike before...same thing no stock.....took 3 months before I eventually got kind off what I had ordered.
