Who is he gonna sue when he falls off a drop?

god....(at the risk of starting another religious debate)

at the risk of adding fuel to the fire' date=' maybe he should already consider suing god for not giving him common sense!

i have to admit, when i first heard abouth te accident i felt really sorry for the "poor dude" and i do still feel sorry that he's been hurt the way he has, but i don't feel sorry for him as a person due to his reaction to the situation (if that makes any sense).

i have forever lost a few days of my life because of some unidentified rider in the 2006 'shova who over-reacted to a pothole and knocked my front wheel out from under me. i have neither saught this woman out to sue her for making a reckless 90 degree sideways dash of an entire road's width into me, nor have i gone after the durban (ekhuruleni?) municipality to sue them for there having been a pothole. i just see it as "that's riding - shyte happens". i chose to participate in the 'shova. i chose to race. i chose to shunt it in my highest gear (53 chainring and 11 sprocket) and go as fast as i could and i chose to pass the bunch while they were slower than me and i was much faster (per the witnesses - i remember nothing of it)

maybe they should all sue you for the post-traumatic stress they suffered after seeing you bloody and bruised on the road?

Poor quality reporting. Very strong bias towards the injured rider's view. All the facts and both sides of the story are essential to create an objective article. Problem is that all the facts diminish the sensation factor...

I get the Rosebank Gazette. Has turned into between 8 and 10 pages of community news with a wad of advertising from all sorts.

That's exactly it! Would you buy one of these papers? No, of course not. The 'editorial' is there to separate the adverts which dominate these publications. Caxton is known for it's distribution network, not its quality journalism...

Not sure if I agree entirely, the mountainbikers point of view was given by Richard Beswick and about equal space was given to each. However it does lean to sensationalist, by the way it is written it sounds as if the seesaw jumped out and knocked him off his bike. He was not leisurely riding along, he was choosing to ride the seesaw.

Unless of course he did not see the sesaw :)

At the risk of sounding cold and heartless (which my staff will probably swear to), does anyone think the injuries sustained by mtb talent challenged individual would make him worthy of an entry in this years Darwin Awards?

Guys...in all honesty....I see this as a very

serious matter.

I totally don't agree with his intention to sue the

builder and I have written the journalist to express my views.

However, I don't think it's appropriate to mock the

guy. It's just in bad taste.

I have of late often thought about such an accident

happening to me. We ride hard and fast, especially on technical and

steep descents. I have numerous close calls all the time. Any one of those could

result in me being in a similar predicament.

Let's show some respect to what is afterall a

fellow rider.
