seems your early starts are over!!!!

just got this from the club mail

To all CGC Members,<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

It has become disconcerting to see people who are totally out of their depth in starting groups that they are definitely not qualified to be in.

An example is a picture of an entrant attired in running shoes and on a mountain bike standing next to Malcolm Lange at the start of an event.

This is possible due to the fact that riders merely apply and pay for a license and without question one is issued.

Typically the idea is that to start earlier one just needs to license and that will ensure early starts at all events.

A rider is eligible to license based on certain criteria and thus <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Central Gauteng is instituting a licensing process based on the applicants seeding.

Licenses will now only be issued on ability and not merely on application.

All applications for licenses will have to be submitted to the provincial office via the relevant clubs.

Central Gauteng is adopting the SuperSport Seeding system with certain criteria being included to ensure the correct evaluation of the applicant.

The SuperSport ladder includes all events participated in by all riders and thus facilitates correct rider seeding.

This will unfortunately mean that all applicants are not guaranteed licensing. It is the intention of CGC to ensure that correct seeding and licensing are implemented in our province.

Thanking you for your cooperation.
