Who can remember KZN

I can remember this roadhouse very well when i was still at school we used to go down to the NEST with our surfboards and skateboards and park off there for the day .My friend's (peter limbouris aka Peter from Dirks butchery in davenport) uncle owned the NEST .

 

dont know if joe cool's is still there now I have not been there for quite some time maybe some of our KZN hubbers could bring me up to speed

Durban Surf Lifesaving Club (far left of pic) is still there, but the rest has changed significantly. I vaguely remember this roadhouse from when I was a kid. Might have been a different one further south or north though as I was a born in 1970.

Damn, I love that architecture. That sign of "the nest" is typical of the era.

my dad bought a new vw beetle from beachway motors in 1975 for R1900 those were so popular back then. Sean i heard some hectic stories about the lifesavers club !!
