I was disgusted when I finished the race and heard I have to get in my car and drive to the hospital for medical treatment.... I MEAN HELLO.... where are the medics on hand... even Tour de Soweto has medics...

If getting to the finish wasnt a battle enough with an injury I must still find my car....

Then goodie collection... what a joke I want my money back who else wants theirs too....

Radman, what happened? Hope you ok?

Now that you mentioned it, I also noticed the lack of medical assistance. One of my mates fell and had a few roasties he wanted cleaned up. He also had to go home for this.

The medical tent being placed 1km from the start was not very bright . For a change I did not need this tent so can not really complain bout it . Registration was busy but nothing to serious . Got my T-shirt and medal

At Dumbe they handed out Goodie Bags at the finish with your medal. Much better idea as there is an energy bar and peanuts/raisins and then something to drink while you wait around for mates to finish. Even a magazine to keep you occupied.

Would this also not be easier for the race organisers?

Im ok guys thanks for asking....

I did crash though, I went down in the 1st 3km not good considering I had another 57km to go. We were flying along at 45km/hr when I looked at my friend and as I looked forward everybody had stopped I hit my brakes (Note to self... Brandnew different tyres act differently to old) Got some major grip and before I could even react hit the ground. I was man down.... My knee has some grazing but more muscle damage than anything... I have a deep bruise that is really painfull... Im limping around lol still did a 2:46 according to my clock though reackon offical time is around the 2:55 mark. I found it to be a very tough ride...

Does anybody know where the results are???

Oh so there was a medical tent so then what was the whole announcement thing????

But yes a very bad race organise wise def not worth R140

Come on guys...there will always be complaints. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I fell my ass of around the 48km mark. A fun rider turned straight in front of me and boy I bought some major ground. I got up, not quite sure where I was, saw the blood, assured everybody that I am still alive, started laughing (perhaps the pain), jumped on the bike and continued. Finished in around 2:22. Saw this morning that my name is not on the results and called Wessel. He was very friendly and assure me he will rectify the problem.  It was still great fun on the day! Thx FPC!!!!!

PS: My friend's wife rode home after the race on her MTB, fell and broke her jaw. What bad luck! Get well soon Madelein!!

I had a good fun race.

The course was Awesome.

Although I pre-entered, I didn't get a goodie bag or a T-shirt, but I have enough free stuff from races. Do I need a another free water bottle?

My name does not appear in the results, but I really don't care. Does it matter if you you're sprinting for 20th position?

the most important thing is that I had a really good time - If it's not fun, it's not worth doing

I did the 35km race and it was awesome. Best route I've seen up and till now.

I agree with Shamus, who needs a goodie bag?

Rather make the entry fees less and leave the freebies. Less of an organizational nightmare in any case then. Just my opinion.

If you did happen to get a result you would have been 21th anyway , I whipped your butt for 20th place . Agree that 88.88% of us do these things for the fun factor and this race had it big time .

Shamus...I support you! If my safety was at risk at any time during the race then I would have really complained. It was well marshalled, excellent course and as you say....I HAD FUN!!! if your only concnern is a water bottle.....geez....I'd rather keep quit.  Thx FPC for organising it. It was R140 well spent! It bought me a hell of a lot of fun!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the ride! It was just d@mn cold waiting at the start. I didn't think there was that much single track left in Pretoria and surrounds!

Absolutely! Obvioulsy all is nicely plotted on my Garmin but I think quite a bit was on private property which makes it riding it later a protential problem.
