I went flying over Daveyton this morning, came across a dis used cycling come athletics track.

Its in the middle of no where. Will post some photos this afternoon.

It's the Sentra Rand facility... Used to belong to the Railways... maybe still does.... the sentra rand facility is/was a marshalling yard... we used to ride across to it to train on in the old days.

theres a similar facility in CT between Mitchells Plain and Nyanga - brilliant cycling and athletics track. not used for years and they (city of ct or whovever owns the place ) wont put it back into a state of repair so it can be used. what is sad is that its right in the middle of a huge PDI area and is an ideal facility to train the youngsters in athletics/cycling. sad sad sad.

David we used the Bob van Reunen track a few times but since the Mogale City and Chiefs were in talks we were stopped, looks like it is going the same way.The Bob stadium was practically used every day when still opened to the schools in the area.
