Lazarus is one of the older boys at the orphanage. He was 6 years old when he arrived at Con and Marion. Today, 18 year's old, recently qualified and received his black belt in karate, he always had a passion for cycling. We sent out a plea for someone to assist us to grant this wish.

Ian Jones (IanJ) donated a bicycle, a pair of shoes, helmet, and pedals to help Lazarus's dream come true. As from beginning next year, Lazarus will be joining us regularly on our Sunday morning rides.

Thank you Ian for your contribution.

Hey Cycle Junkie, you just rounded off my weekend nicely. Big%20smile

I would have loved to be there today but we had already arranged to do the Ian Kernick ride.

Glad to see someone getting some use out of my very first road bike.

Cycle Junkie, Ian J and so many other wonderfully compassionate members!!

You guys and gals are truley amazing, and our club would not be what it is without you all!
Here we are all snug in our homes; just think each of the children at Botshabelo will be fast asleep holding on tight to a cuddly toy that they never had yesterday. Shame man life is sad for those poor souls!

But, Well done you brought huge smiles to them all!

Cycle Lab.... great work, we (DE-al) are doing one at Killarney Race Track this Wednesday evening, but a little different in concept.

However, the children still win, as all toys go to them, and the animals get the R20.00 entry fee...... in exchange for R4000.00 prize money for the 'race'.

Will post pictures on Thursday. (Hopefully)

Well done to all the CylceLab cyclists and Ian J..... what a kind heart....

Being able to bring some joy to a few children?s life?s where truly a humbling experience, and made me realize of how fortunate we are and how we should count our blessings. The most touching part in this whole event was the following: There were enough toys for each child to be able to get two toys. As Marion said: each of them had the opportunity to choose two toys, but with a bit of a difference, one toy, they were able to keep as their own, but in the strive to teach these children the meaning of sharing and caring for other people, the 2nd toy will be taken to a nearby squatter camp where they will give their 2nd toy to another child, that also do not have a toy. It was very touching to see this, and to think about it, they have nothing, yet, when they receive a little bit, they are willing to share their little bit with another. Def. a lesson to be learnt from this.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I have always been very proud to be a member of Cycle Lab and today I can say that Cyclelab SuperCycling showed yet again that they are a caring and compassionate cycling club. Thank you members of Cyclelab, you are the BEST !!!!
