A hack saw with a fine blade should work. Then clean up the cut with some sandpaper, eventually using fine paper to finish off the job.

Not to sure how you make sure the cut is straight.

It is, but cutting carbon release dust that ones enhaled can damage the lunges. Obvisouly you're not doing it for a living, but recent studies have shown it to have the same effect as working with asbestous.

For exact instructions look on Easton's website. They have a guide on there.

Hahaha.... so it can be done???Im worried about the weave getting messed up...suppose its safer to cut alloy or scadnium??

Just wrap some insulation or duct tape around the edges before cutting. It stops it from fraying.

Your LBS will have a carbon cutter and clamp and they usually do it for free / next to nothing. Just measure beforehand' date=' once its cut, its cut [/quote']

Check with the handlebar manufacturer... Some you can cut, some you can't... Eg, Bontrager Race X Lite (full carbon) you can cut. Race XXX Lite (full carbon too) it is recommended that you don't.

CHECK BEFORE YOU CUT!!! You don't want to destroy a R2000 bar!!!
