So I see it appears as if the whole Eliet bunch has been DQ'd from the race. It seems fair if you are using the argument of punishing all to get the rules to be observed.

However my feeling on this is that, unless the individuals can be identified then all need to DQ'ed. This will include the A's, B's, etc. they were all guilty at some stage.

Probably the fairest deal would be to have cancelled all the results and made the race a non starter. this would surely send the message home.

As was mentioned before on this fourum, this was nit a UCI race, but there were comm's with the bunches and I do not recall anybody isuing any warnings at all.

normaly if there is a transgression the Comm will warn the bunch and then stop them for a final warning. these actions are normally more than enough to send a clear message.

No w back to my point. I was not warned, I was of the opinion that I was adhereing to the rules of the road - Keep Left of the Solid White Line (as far as I know I am alowed to overtake on the righthand side of the road when it is clear etc.). I feel Agreeved, especially as I was dropped on Helshoogte and had to find a way of fending for myself all the way home.

Now now boys, there may be a photo of your group lurking around somewhere and if they find it your group will also be DQ's. What's good for the goos is good for the gander!!

There is no doubt that the Elite bunch should be DQ'd.

But justice should be done to those Elites who did not join in the guttering on the wrong side of the road.

Velouria, in the race report thread, says that he was dropped from the bunch because he was not prepared to ride on the wrong side of the road. He, and whoever else can show that they did not join the lawbreaking, should be able to appeal their innocence and have their results reinstated.

Good point Demonic but I will just take my DQ and live with it.........

Fantastic!!

This should improve the Argus seeding of those like me who who started at the back :)

Nah, not going to help you any Chris.  The winner time is still 2h53 and that would be adjusted, if it changes due to DQ's.  The seeding index you get will stay exactly the same.  The only seedings that will be affected, are those of the DQed guys, who will not get any seeding for the event.

The elites are the ones that don't need the seeding anyway, 'cause most of them start where they want to already.

So who cares then if the Eliets are DQ'd? some do. They are note realy eliets, but were put there as they had licences. remember this was not a UCI race so ther "Eliets" included Sub-Vets, Vets, Masters etc.

The sponsors also care. coverage is shot to S&It!!

I also care....

If remember correctly at the Tour de Worcester the first 5 riders' names were also removed from the initial results because in the sprint they also crossed the white line, but only few days later their results were reinstated.....

As someone who races in the leagues with you lot, and sits on the league sub-comm I say this:

You KNEW the rules, you broke the rules, you paid the price..

Unfortunately those that didn't break the rule also gets punished now, but that can't be helped.

Thanks PPA... If this is true, you are on the right track.

Maybe its time the PPA buy 5 small video cameras, and use it on the m/bikes or on hot spots and DQ that spesific group.

Eventually the other riders in the group will help control those sheep that "wonders" to the right hand side of the road.

Hey Fats, you are correct, however all that I ask is that the rulles be applied fairly. If the one bunch is DQ'd all bunches that ignored the rules should be DQ'd.

I have no problem with this at all. just be consistent. this meant that the results as a whole should be null and void.

Why not?

What can be simpler than allowing appeals from whoever feels like appealing?

Guys, as you know I didn't do the race....I was in the Arauma Carriers vehicle following and taking pictures. I was shouting at specific riders that will remain anonymous for now to move left. It fell on a deaf ear.

Don't blame the PPA for something the race organization f'd up. PPA is doing a lot to address the white line issue, including motorbike marshals etc.

If you feel you should have had more marshaling / road closure etc for your R150 entry fee, stop bitching on the forum, and write a nice formal letter to the race organiser.
