I had the same problem and all I did was move the IR to a differenty USB slot on my computer and it worked.

Ek het dieselfde probleem met Pro-trainer 5. Ek wil dit afhaal en weer pro-trainer 3 terugsit. Dalk 'n sagteware probleem?

I had the same problem. I have about 15 USB ports on my machine. 8 powered and 7 non. And between all of them I can only use 2 that are registered as IRQ 7 and 9.

I aslo had that problem, did 2 things that solved the problem.

1. Use the same USB port every time.

2. Check the battery on the wrist unit.

I also had this problem. It seems to be 2 things. First, I had the USB IR reader that was a long white/cream unit which was very unreliable. I changed this to the one that looks like a flash drive. Since then it works fine. Also make sure it is a USB 2 port, not USB1

IHM (the Polar agents) also told me to make sure the surface the unit is on is relatively cool and  that the unit is not too close to the reader so as to get good thermal contrasts.

I have since upgraded to Vista but have not loaded Polar yet, so am not sure how that works.

I hope it helps.  Smile

I had the same problem when I had my Polar. I usually had to line the IRA device up correctly with the wrist unit and kept the whole setup out of direct light as it seemed to affect the IR connection...I usually put a book over the unit while downloading.
