anybody tried the maxxis monorail tyres yet.

Question:

Are they as robust as the crossmarks, meaning thorn and cut resistant ?

Are they lighter ?

do they have less rolling resistance than the crossmarks ?

They are as robust.

Weight wise, they are around 50 grams lighter per tire.

They roll around the same IMHO, however I find they provide more confidence in the corners.

I have the Monorail on the front and the Crossmark on the rear.

(Both Tubeless)

Done plus-minus 800 kms on both, Telkom Satellite Challenge was the biggest test I think, no punctures or anything so far. 100% happy with both the tyres and setup Thumbs%20Up

well I've got the tubeless version on my bike and I rode the Cedarberg escape with it (and the crossmark on the back). No problems whatsoever.....

I reckon that will be my excact setup. monorail front and crossmark at the back.

thanks

Also running the Monorail 2.1 ust at the front and Crossmark at the back. The Crossmark had a cut that I had to patch from the inside. (Nope, to big for Joe's sealant). The Monorail running fine. Better cornering, less "sand spray" than the Crossmark. Rolls well.

My Crossmark weighs 690gr. and the Monorail 609 gr. Both UST 2.1.

The actual width of the carcass is more like 47mm. (1.9 inch) on a 17mm. rim. If you stretch it a bit with the vernier you can measure 52mm. over the widest blocks.

I like the Monorail. I prefer it to the Crossmark.

I have replaced my old Spez Resolution 2.1 wirh Monorail 2.1 at the back. To be honnest, they look cool, but have not felt any difference yeat. The only thing that appealed to me is the fact they they have stronger sidewalls to most other tyres.

Had some of the first Monorails in SA.  Did about 2000 km on them, when one of the lugs came off.  Otherwise I was very happy with them.
