Was going up the flat end of Klapperkop, past Monument park golf course toward the water tower when it happened. Fortunately managed to freewheel most of the way back to  LBS.

On the topic of receipts.... here in my valley the LBSs have a tendancy NOT to give receipts when purchasing items (large/small/cheap/expensive). Make sure they state what you receive as well, not just a cafe slip with amounts on it!

You would think so Fand, unfortunately shop changed ownership and name in the last 14 months, previous record keeping up to maggots.

thats their problem not yours. if they cant reproduce the original, get them to issue you a new one. If SARS walks in there tomorrow, they dont give a sh*t about ownership change. they want paperwork.

Why do you need the receipt in any case?  Surely the S/N is easy to trace at the wholesaler.  Those thieves keep a record of every serial number of every item they sell, to avoid mistakenly sorting out warranty claims on parallel imports.
