Thanks Slowbee, will let you know how it goes. dirt-rider, thanks, but was hoping for a bit more detail than that! I know that both days are basically up then down, but was curious to see the profile. I hear that the climb out of the Hell is really steep at the start. Should be fun!

What gear you taking?

Put in a bit of effort on day one and you can get an earlier start the next morning .

 

Tent , bottle of wine and sleeping bag is all extra gear you need .

It was about R500 for entry, with saturday supper, etc. We are camping at the start on friday, and a big tent will be waiting for us in the Hell. Taking the basics and some beer money!

Sure, why not? It's on a big open road, no tricky stuff. Took me just over 3hours each day when I did it.Marius2008-11-04 07:15:18
