Team to rebuild bridge on the Spruit needed!

Recommended Posts

On my way to work this morning I was surprised to see the amount of damage last nights rain did. One of the big ones is the bridge that replaced the See-saw. I'm thinking if we get a few guys on Saturday morning we can build a new one. I can supply 2 hammers and some nails, and absolutely NO knowledge about bridge building - so I qualify as supervisor. LOL

Anyone want to help with materials & labour?

Oh, and so as not to discriminate against the girls, we need volunteers to serve beer. Preferably in bikinis. The girls, not the beers. Tongue

Massive interest generated I see. Guess I'll just go down to where the bridge was on Sunday morning with a six pack and a camping chair and listen to all the people bitching about the bridge being gone. I'll just hold up a sign saying 'Then do something about it' when they come past.

Sorry Hog, my repairing skills are utilised on the Alberts Farm side of the Spruit and the Dogs jealously guard my repairing abilities.

I'd give you a hand' date=' but I'm kinda tied up with some small cycling related events this weekend. What about the 22nd?

Dude you only posted about an hour ago, bear in mind that the 94.7 Mountain Bike Challenge is also on.

Theres a difference between rebuilding the entire bridge structure and repairing a few planks.

Don't forget the liability as well, we all saw this already with the drama lama over the original see-saw.

Try letting City Parks know as well

It is a tiny event, they probably not expecting more than a handful of participants. It also hasn't been publicized much.

Apart from collecting a new MTB wheel set on the morning of the 29th and thrashing some wholesalers bikes around NF on the 30th, I havn't much on for the following weekend.

and be held criminally liable when someone falls off the bridges?

You would have to be very, very special to fall off that bridge. It is about as broad as it is long. Even my wife and her friend rode it first time out.

Not just Jhb.

Computer Science is the race between engineers and programmers trying to create more robust and idiot proof systems and the world who is creating better idiots.

So far the world is winning by a huge margin.

Anyway this one is easy, "Hog was having a beer at my place, so he couldn't have been the one fixing the bridge, your honor. In fact, your honor, with all the falls and bike-jackings Hog and I would never venture into the spruit, it's a very dangerous place."
