Jules Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Colnago Master Olympic Art Decor. Not a scratch on the frame. Took possession yesterday. Also have a steel GT Peace 9er.
Beetle_Juice Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 this is my steel peugeot that i ride when im in JHB - was my first bike - so i rather like it http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/Beetle_juice_photos/DSCN0031.jpg
Flippa Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 How do you tell if its steel? I have an ancient Gios' date=' blue with chromed lugs and a pinned head tube badge. Not sure if its steel, but it sure is heavy. I'm looking for a 7 speed cluster for it (See 7 speed cluster thread).[/quote'] If it still has it's original paint job then there should be a sticker on the seat tube saying if it is Reynolds or Coumbus tubing. If it is ancient enough then it will say "chromoly" Cool, thanks. Still has its original paintjob. I'll check it out tonight. Ok, so checked the bike out last night. No identifying stickers saying chromoly or any such. I did put a magnet to it and it stuck, so its definitely not aluminium.
latentree Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 My only road bike, gets out every few years.
droo Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Trek 430, about 13 years old... and its got the only surviving example of a 7 speed STI! Can still do a sub 3 Argus though... My next bike will be an Inbred 456 - also steel - collecting all the parts before I buy the frame, cos it'll kill me to have it hanging on my wall and not be able to ride it!
JPW# Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I had a 501, its just as good as a peugeot raport. The power you put into the frame, stays in the frame hehe.... (as dead as a donkey) I must say upgrading later to the 531,653 and 753....phew what a diffrence!
