Will be my first ride after having my gallbladder out (laparoscopically) last Thursday so road would suite me .......

We already have a GreyOwl V2.0 so I suppose we will soon have BigBen V2.0 - The new light weight version. Talk about taking weight saving to the extreme smiley4.gif.

Glad to hear you are recovering BigBen and was good to see you on Sunday.

well hello' date=' hello, hello.....

what's this about me keeeelling people?  I don't log on for a few days and look at how much fun I've missed out on.

Slaveman and Oxman and co, thank you for accommodating me time-wise, I think I had rocks in my head when I volunteered at the school on Saturday to do a parents 'clean up & maintenance' day... so ja, shortly after our ride i'll be armed with a ladder and paintbrush or a garden fork and spade in an effort to make the school all spic and span for 'open day' next week..... eish

Owl, sorry that you missed out on your race dude... I'm on my way over now with some med-lemon and honey to fix you up [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley2.gif[/img]

so who all is in for Saturday..... Racman, where are you???!!  Dash? Joe Low?

Nancy, the last time you were GO's nurse you ended up in bed smiley35.gifsmiley35.gif

What  I'm saying is that you were sick afterwards so remember to take your vitamin C smiley36.gifsmiley2.gifsmiley36.gifsmiley2.gif

And remember to pump those tyres all the way to 9bar

BigBen, I'm glad you've seen the light and are going to ride on the black solid tar instead of the dirty gravel and you know what they say, once you ride on the black you'll never go back smiley32.gifsmiley32.gif

Good thinking kid... I'm onto high doses of vitamin C now, we wouldn't want me getting a sore throat too after administering special care to my patient, would we?...smiley4.gifsmiley2.gifsmiley9.gifsmiley9.gif

Assumptions mate, assumptions. They are known to be the fother of all muck-ups. smiley36.gif

Most people who have gall bladder problems have them removed cause they get stoned (I mean they get / have gall stones.)smiley19.gif

Maybe BB has had the poor thing all shook up because of too many hours riding in the stones. (The loose ones on the single tracks.)

Anyhow, it is not a pleasant surgical procedure. I've heard it hurts a bit.

Don't ask obtuse questionsabout how people get to share germs and viruses. Wrong forum dude.

Being the uninformed, young and innocent CD individual I am, I wanted an explanation. Never even thought of it being rude/expoitative/whatever.....

So Nance please explain why you will have a sore throat, so Slave can rest.

Trubie, if I get banned for this, I'm going to have to find you and break your, your, your, (gosh, I don't know).

Thing is GOv2.0 had "flu a while back. Nance also developed'flu like symptoms a short time later. There was much speculation as to how this could have occured an certain conclusions were drawn. Nance and GO were sick together after riding together.

Now GO has a sore throat and Kid is doing his civic duty to protect the young and inncocent Nance from getting sick again and making sure that she takes "precausions."

Well done Kid, that was excellent community service.

I trubie hope you understand this fellow riding buddy. If not, let's get together, have a quiet gallon of beer or two and I will explain and draw pictures for you.

You being "young and innocent" and "uninformed" is like me going slowly. Thousnds may belive you, I don't. .smiley2.gifsmiley17.gif Got to be seen to be believed.

Sorry Slave, still dont understand. In other words, if You break my whatever, and I end up in hospital, you come for a visit, and when you leave you also have a broken whatsoever because you cared about me? Makes no sense at all whatsoever

Me no longer visit anyone who's sick/broken or something...........

Maybe you should not be explaining this, but rather Nance...

Here we go Trubes, I've just kept the important bits....

I hope this helps, if not.. I would strongly urge you to take slave up on that gallon of beer offer so he can draw you pictures

What causes a sore throat?<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

A sore throat can have many causes including:

Common viruses, and even the viruses that cause mononucleosis (mono) and the flu, can cause a sore throat. Some viruses can also produce blisters in the mouth and throat ("aphthous stomatitis").

snip, snip, snip

Viruses spread in many ways; plant viruses are often transmitted from plant to plant by insects that feed on sap.... snip, snip,....  Influenza viruses are spread by coughing and sneezing and less commonly but completely viable, by riding bicycles together or donning a nurses outfit and administering... ahem.... 'care' to a sick friend in need

Ok thanks, at last it makes sense where the throatsore evolves, however, I still dont understand what Slave tried to explainsmiley17.gif

The way Nance puts it can lead to "conclusions being drawn" as to how the administering to a sick friend was done.

I was being vague as I did not want you (and others) to draw the wrong conclusions.

Now that Nance has said it, I have some ideas that the nurses uniform may have contrinuted to the spread of the virus, but that is my own conclusion.

I did not want to be the "klikbek" and start rumours.
