Yeah' date=' 40 k's on Sunday. (Don't laugh dude.)

Trubie entered himself and his Mrs and his plan was to ride the 40 with her. Now Mrs. Trubie is not riding Sunday so I will ride in her place.

Not going to go through substitutions or wear a timing chip for that matter.

Since you'll be representing Mrs Trubie will you be wearing your pink outfit ??

BB' date=' make some room in that trench bud, I need to execute a diving roll for cover when the bullets start flying. Was cool seeing you on the road yesterday, so sorry I couldn't chat, I had an agenda.[img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley36.gif[/img]

OK 2 things Slavester - it's getting a bit crowded in my trench but you're welcome! Yip pity we were not on compatible equipment else we could have joined you ....... Hope I didn't 'disturb' your agenda too much, was good seeing you out.

Dude, if you planning to race me it's going to be a doddle for you. You have got pretty darn good since you joined that hardcore 5 am gang.

But then again, you were planning on riding with Mrs. Trubie so I guess I may be a wee bit faster than her. (Marginal call that one.)

So, it seems you know something about my training regime that I don't. Climbing Camaro once or twice may be extreme, but nothing like your schedule. I am hoping it makes the legs a bir stronger and will keep me on the big blade more than the small blade.

I have got too used to using the small one.

Still need to focus more on doing interval and speed work though.

Where is the turnpoint ' date=' close to little Egypt...??[/quote']

Countrywide Medals Winter Challenge 2009 - Route Description

The race will start from Stonehaven on Vaal in Vanderbijlpark, taking riders on the Louisrus/Potch road on a flat and fast out and back route. Riders on the 40 km will use the same route out and back with earlier turn points. This route differs from the normal "Ertjiesberg" route (Vdbp/Parys).

Not sure where Egypt in The Vaal is Shawn.........

Yip, then you will turn just before the T-junction. Little Egypt is just off to the left then.....so you guys have a little down hill after the turn. Watch out for some attacks for the the young guys..

BB, I had an earlier mishap with some doff woman in a 4 times 4. She decided to overtake directly into oncoming traffic (lil ol me) and I was forced to take evasive action ending up almost on the pavement. So that slowed me down a bit.

Then slowing down to chat to you (very briefly) and I ended up doing my "Time Trial" 2 and a half minutes slower than best time. Not too sure it was as  a result of that, but I was disappointed in my effort. I think it had little to do with you though. Maybe a combination of stuff.

How was your ride? Who were you with?

So Trubes, you taking your Sjambok with Sunday? Chase me around to make me do intervals? Sounds like something I should be doing. Nice warmup and then interval training trying to chase down the bunch that drop me. What sort of size do you think the filed will be? Small like fountains. Smaller like the previous ride in Sasolburg?

Any ideas on route profile?

On the other hand, I think I must just go at it as hard and as long as I can. Spend all the matches in the box. Lungs on handle bar type ride. You think? (It will be if I try to keep up with your pace. Unless I use the Kids rope trick and hook onto Andy's bike.)

Kid, I am not sure that BB has other plans for the pink blouse. If it's available, I will use iit. I think I am somewhat larger than Mrs. Trubie. Her pink stuff wont fit me.

It's not the colour of the putfit so much as the wig that will bother me. Helmet hair is one thing, but having those long flowing locks out there in the wind causing drag, well, that's just another ball of wax.

That's kind of why I want to do around 60 on Saturday. Nothing fast or hard, just a nice gentle leg loosener for Sunday. Shawn you in, or should I just make the effort, freeze my nuts off and go down and ride with the usual bunch of suspects at the usual post dawn freeze.

Anyone heard anything from the Owl man lately? He's been very quiet. Hope he's OK.

Sorry mate the pink blouse is in use on Sunday (I need it every now and then myself you know!).

That was my son also referred to as LittleBen at times (actually Byron and not so little ....).

Shawn, you needing the distance sounds like you plan to go long loop?

Well, then I guess if I want a bunch ride then I will have to risk the big freeze. I promissed myself last week when wefroze doing the WWRR that I would never ride that cold again. (Yeah, I know, I am the number one contender to take over the pink blouse award, permanently.)

So Trubes, looks like I will be seeing ya after all. Short loop and then on to Swartkoppies as mentioned earlier.

Eh Slave, don't be such a cheapskate, go buy one at PEP like I did. A mere 14.99 and you'll probably use it more than the fancy schmancy jacket your wife made ...... at least I do!

Sorry BB, I was so wrapped up in my own little world I paid scant attention to your son.

Hi, (Not so) Little Ben. Bit late, but "hey" anyway.

Looks like I will have to earn my own pink blouse award and then I can wear it all the time.

Tried to find pink parachute material and have Mrs Slave make me a pink Slave jacket. (Only colour I could find was that yellow. It does the job though, keeps me warm and is very functional. Those are actually the jackets we will be selling sometime soon.)

So, tomorrow AM, clad in bright yellow, thermall tights and all that stuff, I'll just go down to Xumbugs.

See whoever is there then. Outa here for the rest of the day.Mettings and stuff. Good unproductive meetings and huge interferance on HUb Time.

Eish!

Trubes. HELP dude. I thought we would be safe riding a bike. What's with all the attacking going on here?

I am going to do the short loop ' date=' back to Swartkoppies at 7:30!!

Ahhh, so you also racing your alter ego. Or when did Andy become an enemy? (I know he hails from the norf and all, but like dude, chillax. He aint that bad. He's actually quite a cool dude for someone from out there.)smiley2.gif

No, Andy is cool, and I cant race him, way too fast for me. I wasnt planning on racing myself either.

I was actually refering to you, as I know that extreme training regime will start bearing fruit soon!!smiley2.gif

Thanks Slave and Trubie! Glad I am not the enemy. And I ride a Trek, Trubie! smiley2.gif

I am still deciding whether to do the race or not. If I do then who needs a domestique? I am keen to possibly ride SBR tomorrow though.

So I woke up early this morning, got out of bed and noticed I had a stiff neck. Eish, getting dressed she was painful. Can hardly lift my right arm.

So, instead of meeting the usual suspects at the usual place,I had something to eat and swallowed two of those anti-inflamatories. Still hurts like mad and I am seriously concerned about whether I can race tomorrow.

Like what is it that as we get older the body finds new ways to hurt. Last week, left shoulder, this week, sore neck affecting right shoulder.

Trubes, Shawn, sorry I probably missed a good ride this morning.

I will take a couple more anti inflatories later on and have a good nights rest. Here's hoping that I can race.
