smiley4.gif OH YEAH BABY!!!!

What a race.

Ended on 2:39 ish and somewhere in top 10 I think, in C bunch.

In front end of bunch to the end and spent plenty of time up front mixing it with the boys.

I actually thought close to the end I could do the sprint and I did and I got kicked in the teeth and I loved it.

One week ago I was in the karoo on MTB in the heat fighting the hills and today on the road in the wet fighting the bunch.

What a live

How did you other hubbers do?

Hey Predictor,

Andy chickened out, you know these northern guys are soft, very soft.

I was at the start nice & early and I was at the finish way before my group came in. LOL

Well done Prdictor, that's a brilliant time considering the conditions.

What's next ?

I start my running very soon so my next serious ride would be Argus.

Soooo hoping I can bump my seeding a bit for Argus as I understand that starting from H one is going to struggle to break 3 hours.

Ag we will see.

Like I say, "My ma het nie bang kinders groot gemaak nie maar baie groot kinders bang gemaak" Hehehe

What was your time in the end and have you heard from the other okes?

My time, err, err, well you see let me explain I was at the start then it was just raining & raining so I packed my bike back and went home. Changed cars, dropped off my car & collected a BIG car & Slave and we went & fetch Trubie.

So no race for me nor Humming Bird.

IMO, Trubie has a brilliant race under the conditions but he can blow his own trumpet.

Ha ha Kid you wuss!!! Ha ha nice ride Predictor! Was aiming for a sub 3 after my unplanned break over the festive season smiley1.gif Mr Grey Owl must have done something right with the training! Crossed the Line 2:38 so well chuffed with that! Top 3 for my group smiley4.gif

Nice ride Nancy, Predictor and Kieran. How many punctures were there? I know Engela Conradie got one about 5km in and Nancy about 10km from finish. Were there many others?

Kid, seems like southerners are also soft.

As I have stated before, The Fast One is not one of my main races in the calendar. I went there, waited awhile to see what the conditions were going to be like. I decided that it was not worth it to risk a crash, puncture/mechanical or possible sickness so went home. Ended up doing a few hours on the trainer while watching my Overcoming dvd.

Great times there guys! (Nance you make no mention of time...?)

It kinda makes me envious that I did not enter... but I'm on a different agenda this year smiley2.gif

Thanks Slave! Glad to hear you haven't taken up cricket! That causes rain! Who did start playing cricket? Kid' date=' was it you? [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley36.gif[/img]

You know I like racing in the rain but this rain is starting to get to me now!

So before we call you Mandy from now on, care to tell us why you were not racing yesterday.smiley5.gif

Someone who loves racing in the rain and none of us saw you even though we looked out for you. smiley7.gif

Well done Kieran. Heard you did a 2hr38 which is very respectable.

Nancy DREW. You turned up to race and some other children we know bailed. Big respect girl. smiley2.gif

So the good news is I am on the mend. The ribs don't hurt quite as much as before. Now if I can get rid of this new jidney pain, I will fix the flat wheel on the bike and set it up on the IDT so I can start turning pedals again.

I was heart sore yesterday watching all those brave souls who did race and wondered if I would have had the courage to race.

Anyone know if GO raqced.

smiley4.gif Good to see Thug and a few other hubbers again.

Trubie, I heard you did very well? what was your time if I may ask.

Andy, Kid we will see you in the next one.

Slave I bleed for you my friend.

Good race and I see the ride for sight is coming up now.

Anyone riding it?

I saw the D group had a slightly better finish time than the C bunch. smiley32.gif

Kieran you pipped me with 30 seconds now I am chasing you as well dude

Our friend Kid made a mistake by posting such false info on here, now I have to confess that it was only 2:35.Nice to have friends like thatsmiley19.gif

Planning to do Ride4Sight but please please can you arrange some sun ?

I see Grey "the machine" OWL version 2 had an awesome race yesterday.

Well done bud. (Hope you enjoy cleaning the bike smiley36.gif)

Trubes official time was 2hr 35 min 25 seconds. A dam good time under the conditions and on the lower side of my own estimated time he would do it in. (I thought around 2:35 to 2:40)

Found the results for the owl. He did very well.

Looks like I will be inheritting my slowpoke mantle back again. Even the one legged dogs are faster than me these days. As is Kieran.

Still have to see if the Kid can beat me though. My time for last year remained unthreatened since the Kid took the path of least resistance and bailed before he even came under starters orders.

Joe Slow also rode and comleted the race as did Big Ben.

Well done all of you.

Predictor, you will have to think about tripple laps in SBR to turn the pressure back onto the youngest member of our group.
