So what you are in effect saying Trubes is that it will taake e the rest of my life to get back to where I was before.

12 weeks off at the beginning of the year and now recently another 4 weeks to get over the cold I had. Damn thing just didn't want to leave me alone.

Commuted to work one time last week and left the bike at the office for a few days. Rode home again Friday in the hopes that I could make it to Xumbugs on the weekend. (We all know that didn't pan out.)

Then I commuted both ways yeasterday. It was a lekker ride and I realised how much I missed riding.

Slave, nice to hear from you, was wondering what had happened to you.

They've changed the 94.7 route this year so that you can get your sub 3hr, so best you start training.

See you at Xumbugs this weekend, Sunday we'll do the short loop ;) ;)

Fortunately for you it doesnt apply to naturals, but yes, if it did, you would have had a struggle on yr hands :)

So Slave, what you think of the new 94.7 route? You going for your sub 3 this time out. You welcome to sit on my wheel if you want. I have already scouted the N14 section when I had to go to PTA yesterday.

So this week was a rest week.

Only did 9 mins shy of 6 hrs. Must say the body is feeling pretty good after all this "rest".

Carousel is next monday, so I suppose it couldnt have come at a better time.

Spent the whole weekend on the mtb, and must admit - missed the road big time!!

Sat am , an easy ride with the Heidelberg Lab crowd at Rietvlei, and then today the Country Challenge out at Lapeng. Seeing its a slow week, I opted for the 35 k's only. Good decision, too much climbing for my liking, but I got a good result in the end, finished 6th overall, in 1;38. Happy chap, plenty confidence for Carousel and racing that lies ahead until end of Oct.

Winter training has been good and consistent, from next week we will see if it worked or not:)

Have a great week crowd

Well done there Trubes.

What the Kid said.

@Andy, I haven't seen the new 94.7 route and to be hinest, I don't think I have done nearly enough training to even attempt a sub 3. Was kinda planning to ride for a social team with plans for about a 4. Just to take a nice leisurely bike ride for the day.

After I got over the initial shock of missing the 3 hr mark last year, I got to analyse the result and I am happy enough to declare that last year was a good racing year for me overall. This year, it's just getting back to the fun part of riding for the sheer pleasure of it.

Yeah, I know the racing makes it loads of fun, but my training / riding has been erattic at best, so taking a back seat is not an altogether bad thing.

Well done Trubie!

Slave, you can still get fit in time if you start soon. You commuting should give you a good bit of distance in a day. And with it getting dark later and later you can increase the distance on your way home. Do an extra block of two and build up. Then ride with Kid on the weekends (who has graduated to A bunch for Carousel - Well done Kid!).
