'k So this week has been a disaster training wise.

Rained every day 'cept Monday and then I started this brochitis sh!t. If the weather was sunny all week, I would have been really bummed out, but I guess a rest is necessary sometimes.

So all my plans for the weekend bunch ride is out for this weekend.

See y'all next weekend and all and all.

I read somewhere earlier that you do not prefer the morning rides in the week?

Less rain (no rain) early morn, so join us bru. 5.15 normal meeting place.

Was looking forward to see that 900 yr old Pgeot this weekend.

Guess Ill have to wait little longer.

Remember - you become better than yr rivals if you manage to train when they dont - ie when its raining.

Oh yes - join me for the gym thing once a week(although not spinning), weather not an issue, or get an indoor trainer!!

Good luck

Hey Nuwbie,

I normally ride on Saturday & Sunday with the 6:30 group but two weeks ago on my Saturday ride I some how fell and fractured my wrist so now no road cycling for 6 weeks smiley19.gif smiley19.gif smiley19.gif smiley19.gif

Now I just ride at the gym, got to keep the fat off and the fitness up.

Enjoy your ride tomorrow.

Bad luck - I

Did not know there was a 6:30 group

would prefer to go with them in future - 7:00 , just too late

hopefully rain stays away tmrw though

I also prefer to go out at 6:30.

They do anything from 80km - 120km, most of the guys have been rides for over 10 years so I normally huff & puff to keep up but I'll get there.

Hope it's clear tomorrow, if I look south the sun is shining but who knows what the weather is going to do in the nextfew minutes.

Enjoy.

Hey there Nuwbie. Welcome to the hub.

I'm a bit lazy when it comes to riding in the early am. Tend to get to bed too late and battle to wake up early to go for rides. Must admit that I like the early morning freshness and generally lower traffic volumes.

Then again, I like to go and unwind my mind after a tough day at the office. Gym, nah, can't do that stuff mate. It's just too easy to get bored outa my mind and then get off the bike way too soon. Spinning is like going nowhere in a hurry. Nothing like the adreneline rush of dodging cars, taxis, dogs and pedestrians when you do the real thing out there on the road. Even an IDT would have pretty much the same effect.

To see this 900 year old beast of mine, you'll have to wait till the weekend, because I can breathe a bit better today so I'm going to go out this arvie and do a slow whatever and see how I feel. Prob'ly do pretty much the same thing the whole week. Slow rides, lotsa rest. So I should make it for a group ride on Saturday. Sunday mornings, I have other commitments and ride later in the day.

The 900 year old beast is looking quite spiffy these days. Got a set of STI's from a fella hubber and I been itching to test them. No more downshifters on this beast. Also got a set of wider handle bars so ride may be more comfy.

We're geeting there, slowly, but we are moving ahead. Looking forward to being in the saddle again.

BTW, anyone know what happened at Klipriver this weekend? Saw another thread and it sounds ominous.

I think it's going to rain later but either way enjoy your ride.

So maybe you'll be doding cars, taxis, dogs in the rain, what else could you ask for on a Monday ??

If you want to ride early during the week the guys leave at 5:15.

Thanks IK. Yeah, I think it is gonna rain, but that's not a train smash right now. I'm still trying to get over this bronchitis stuff and no way am I gonna ride in any rain.

I can't like the rain at all. Motorists seem to have visual problems when the sun shines, they just go blind and stoopid when it rains, so besides the fact that I don't like the discomfort, it's just not safe to ride when it rains.

I do try to ride the bedroom bike in rainy weather but she just doesn't want to know.smiley36.gif
